in three steps
The men's corduroy is one of the signature fabrics in the Hartford men's wardrobe. Available in several variations, including ribbed seersucker with its unique texture, babycord with very fine ribs, and corduroy with medium ribs (11 wales), it is always a cotton velvet that requires careful maintenance. Here are three key steps to preserve the beauty and shape of your garments over time:

STEP 1
WASHING MEN'S VELVET CLOTHING
For the three types of men's velvet Hartford, we recommend machine washing at a maximum temperature of 30°C on a gentle cycle to preserve the fabric's fibers and texture. Avoid bleaching at all costs, as it weakens the fabric and alters its deep color. For best results, turn your items inside out before washing and limit friction with other textiles.
- Wash at 30°C maximum, gentle cycle.
- Clothes turned inside out to protect the ribs.
- Bleaching prohibited.
STEP 2
DRYING MEN'S VELVET CLOTHING
Drying velvet clothing for men is a crucial step in ensuring the longevity of velvet. Do not use a dryer: the heat will flatten the ribs and distort the fabric. Instead, dry it in the open air, flat or on a hanger, avoiding direct exposure to sunlight. If ironing is necessary, use a cool iron (110°C maximum) and always work on the reverse side of the fabric so as not to mark the velvet. Light steaming can also restore volume to the ribs.
- Air dry, never machine dry.
- Gentle ironing (110°C max), always on the reverse side.
