hygge - Scandinavian lifestyle
AW / 24
The term "hygge" has no exact equivalent in English but refers to a way of life in Denmark. It evokes an atmosphere of comfort, warmth, and well-being. It is often associated with warm, cozy, and intimate moments, whether spent alone or with others.

Hartford : Can you tell us who you are and what "hygge" means to you?
Jonas : My name is Jonas, I'm 31 years old, and I'm from Denmark.
In Denmark, we have this concept called Hygge, which can be translated as something like "cozy."
It's about spending time with family and friends, usually in the winter. For example, going to a cabin in the countryside, playing games, having a drink, or enjoying good food...
And I think that captures the very essence of Danish identity. Denmark is a calm and peaceful country, a very easy place to live, and people generally lead quiet, very safe lives there.
