Hartford
Revisiting American wardrobe classics with a modern twist—that is the concept behind Hartford, a brand created by Yves Chareton in the United States in 1979.
A pivotal encounter set the adventure in motion: a New York-based manufacturer sold him old stock of Oxford and Chambray fabrics, perfect for crafting the first Hartford shirts with a vintage vibe—a style unavailable anywhere else on the market. A few years later, the studio returned to Paris. The brand took shape and commercial development began: the collections expanded and became synonymous with impeccable quality in terms of fabric and style. By blending European influences with a laid-back West Coast aesthetic, the brand quickly gained cult status on both sides of the Atlantic. No wonder Bruce Springsteen and Eric Clapton soon became devoted fans…

Women, Men & Kids
At Hartford, the “Classics” aesthetic is reflected in the fabrics and fits: the garments are crafted from the finest European fabrics, such as French linen, cottons from Albini in Italy, Maruwa in Japan, and Liberty, to name a few. The impeccable fits of the Chambray and Oxford shirts and the sweaters made from merino wool, alpaca, and cashmere command the respect of the entire fashion industry.
"The 'Alternative'" is all about fun and elegant details, like those tiny embroidered Hawaiian dancers on a shirt, vahine flowers on swim trunks, or polka dots on a skirt… A much-needed touch of humor.
