Hartford
Revisiting American wardrobe classics and giving them a modern twist: that was the aim of Hartford, a project conceived by Yves Chareton in the United States in 1979.
A decisive encounter launched the adventure: a New York manufacturer sold him old stocks of Oxford and Chambray fabric, perfect for making the first Hartford shirts with a vintage feel, which were impossible to find on the market. A few years later, the studio returned to Paris. The brand took shape and commercial development began: the collections expanded and became synonymous with flawless fabrics and style. By blending European influences with a relaxed West Coast aesthetic, the brand quickly became a cult favorite on both sides of the Atlantic. It's no surprise that Bruce Springsteen and Eric Clapton quickly became loyal fans...
Timeless collections
WOMEN, MEN & KIDS
At Hartford, the "Classics" aspect is reflected in the fabrics and fits: the garments are made from the finest European fabrics, such as French linen, cottons from Albini in Italy, Maruwa in Japan, and Liberty, for example. The impeccable fits of the Chambray and Oxford shirts and the merino wool, alpaca, and cashmere sweaters command respect throughout the fashion world.
The "Alternative" is all about fun and elegant details, such as tiny Hawaiian dancers embroidered on a shirt, vahiné flowers on swim trunks, or polka dots on a skirt... An essential touch of humor.
