The commercial website "hartford.fr" and its subdomains (hereinafter referred to as "the Website") is the e-commerce website of the company MELTEX, accessible via the internet and open to all users of this network. The Website allows MELTEX to offer a selection of textile products and accessories for sale to Internet users, hereinafter referred to as "Customers." The system in place requires active participation on the part of customers.
The use of the distance selling process described in these general terms and conditions of sale is reserved solely for consumers, i.e. "any natural person who acts for purposes that do not fall within the scope of their commercial, industrial, craft, or liberal activity." In addition, purchases of products on the Website are reserved for persons of legal age and with full legal capacity.
The Website does not allow the purchase of products for resale. Consequently, users of the Website may not claim any loss of opportunity, exploitation, or profit against MELTEX.
Article 1 - Scope
The customer declares that they have read these general terms and conditions of sale before placing their order and accept them in their entirety and without reservation. These general terms and conditions of sale cannot be modified at the customer's initiative. Confirmation of the order therefore constitutes acceptance without restriction or reservation of these general terms and conditions of sale. This acceptance is indicated by ticking the box "I have read and accept the general terms and conditions of sale".
MELTEX reserves the right to modify these general terms and conditions of sale without prior notice. The changes will be applicable as soon as they are posted online and cannot be applied to orders placed previously. In the event that one of the clauses of this contract is null and void due to a change in legislation, regulations, or a court decision, this shall in no way affect the validity and compliance with these general terms and conditions of sale, nor shall it call into question the validity of the other provisions, which shall continue to apply.
These general terms and conditions apply to the exclusion of all other terms and conditions, in particular those applicable to sales in stores or through other distribution or marketing channels.
In accordance with the provisions of Article 1369-1 of the Civil Code, these general terms and conditions of sale may be stored by any person visiting the Site by means of a computer record and may also be reproduced by the customer by means of printing.
These terms and conditions are applicable as long as they appear on the Website. In the event that, after the date of their removal from the Website, these general terms and conditions of sale remain accessible to the public via other websites, via the cache memory of the customer's computer or by any other means, they shall no longer be enforceable against MELTEX. Unless proven otherwise, the data recorded by MELTEX constitutes proof of all communications, orders, and payments between the parties.
Article 2 - Information relating to items

ItemsThe items offered for sale by MELTEX are those listed on the Website on the day the user visits the site and are subject to availability. As such, certain items sold in physical stores may not be available on the Website. If an item is unavailable, the customer will be notified as soon as possible by MELTEX customer service via email. Furthermore, MELTEX cannot be held liable for any non-substantial differences between the presentation of the items on the Website (photos, descriptions) and the item received by the customer. The customer may not hold MELTEX liable for obvious errors, particularly regarding the product, its characteristics, or its price.
2.2 Prices
The prices of items are those indicatedon the Website, in Euros, US Dollars, Swiss Francs, or British Pounds. No other currency is accepted by the Website for payment of items. MELTEX reserves the right to change the prices of items at any time. The applicable price will be that mentioned on the Website at the time of the customer's order.
In the European Union, prices include all taxes, with delivery costs potentially being charged in addition. In the United States, Canada, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, prices are displayed excluding taxes and delivery costs, with any customs duties and additional taxes being added at the time of payment.
Outside the European Union, the United States, Canada, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, prices are displayed excluding taxes, and delivery costs may be charged in addition. Any customs duties and taxes upon arrival of the package remain the responsibility of the customer.
Delivery costs will be automatically displayed on the Website when the customer confirms their chosen shipping method.

The price is payable in full on the day the order is placed by the buyer, via secure payment in accordance with the terms described in Article 3.1.
In accordance with the provisions of Article L121-19 of the French Consumer Code, the customer will receive, at the latest upon delivery, written confirmation of the price paid, detailing the price of the items and the delivery costs charged to them.
Article 3 - Ordering items
3.1 Order registration and confirmation
The user can select the items they are interested in by clicking on the "Add to basket" button. At any time, they can:
- View their cart at the top right of the screen with information and photos of the items in it and the total amount.
- Modify or delete their selection of products by clicking on the shopping cart icon at the top right of the page where they are located.
- Complete their selection of items and place an order by clicking on "Proceed to Payment" from the shopping cart.
In order to purchase the items, all customers must then identify themselves by entering their email address, last name, first name, full address, phone number, and country. At the end of the ordering process, customers may, if they wish, register on the Site by creating a password that will allow them to quickly access their information when placing future orders. After entering their delivery information, the customer will be invited to choose their payment method directly on the Website. Payment for purchases is made either via PayPal or by credit card via the secure platform of our payment service provider ADYEN.
In the case of payment by credit card, the customer will enter the username appearing on the credit card, the card number, its expiration date, and the security code on the website. Transactions are processed securely by PayPal or by the payment module of our partner ADYEN. The data recorded by PayPal or ADYEN constitutes proof of any financial transaction between the customer and MELTEX.
To take advantage of a commercial offer sent to them, customers must enter their "discount code" in the field provided for this purpose on the payment page. The customer may only use one discount code per order, and commercial offers cannot be combined with sales unless otherwise specified.
In accordance with the provisions of Article 1369-5 of the Civil Code, the customer will have the opportunity, before finally confirming their order, to check the details and total price, and to correct any errors, before confirming the order to express their acceptance.
Once the order has been verified, the customer can then confirm their order by clicking on the "Pay for order" button.
Once payment has been validated and accepted, the order is registered and irrevocable. The sale will be considered final after final and effective payment of the order.
An order confirmation email is then sent by MELTEX to the customer, indicating the details of the items paid for, their price, shipping costs, and billing and delivery addresses.
3.2 Limitation of liability
MELTEX has only an obligation of means for all stages of access to the Site, the ordering process, delivery, or subsequent services.
It cannot be held liable for any inconvenience or damage inherent in the use of the Internet, in particular a break in service or failure of the customer's connection to the Site, external intrusion or the presence of computer viruses, or any event qualified as force majeure in accordance with case law and the law. 3.3 Refusal of orders
In accordance with the provisions of Article L.122-1 of the French Consumer Code, MELTEX shall be entitled to refuse any order that is abnormal or placed in bad faith. As the Website is intended for
, it does not allow the purchase of products in large quantities for resale.MELTEX reserves the right to modify its prices at any time. Products will be invoiced based on the prices in effect at the time the order is confirmed. MELTEX may also refuse any order from a customer with whom there is a dispute regarding payment for a previous order.
MELTEX reserves the right to suspend access to the customer's account in the event of fraudulent use of that account.
Article 4 - Terms of payment
The customer's purchases are paid for either by credit card, via the PayPal platform, or via local payment methods.
The customer will be debited when the order is prepared.
To this end, the customer guarantees MELTEX when placing their order that they are the holder of the payment method used and that the name appearing on this means of payment is indeed theirs. As specified in Article 3.1 of these general terms and conditions of sale, the customer must also provide the security code on the back of their credit card, where applicable.
In the event that, for any reason whatsoever (opposition, refusal by the issuing center, etc.), it proves impossible to debit the sums owed by the customer, the sale will be immediately terminated and the purchase process canceled.
All banking transactions are secure: either directly on the Website using the secure payment module provided by our partner ADYEN, with information fully encrypted and protected using SSL technology, or directly on the secure PAYPAL platform

Article 5 - Delivery
The Website offers delivery to severalcountries. When logging in, a window opens and the user, who is geolocated, must confirm their country of delivery in order to be redirected to the correct site.

It is specified that no deliveries can be made to hotels, PO boxes, or post office boxes in order to guarantee customer identification and limit the risk of fraud. Items will be delivered to the address provided by the customer after payment for the order has been definitively recorded.
In accordance with the provisions of Article L 138-1 of the French Consumer Code, items ordered will be delivered within 30 days of the order date, subject to full payment of the price.
Except in special cases or if one or more products are unavailable, the products ordered will be delivered in a single shipment. If, upon delivery, the exterior of the package is not in perfect condition, the customer will open it in the presence of the carrier in order to check the condition of the item. If the item is damaged, the customer shall detail the damage precisely on the delivery note or refuse the package.
Fraud prevention: In order to protect its customers from potential fraudsters, MELTEX reserves the right to carry out address and identity checks on certain orders for the sole purpose of verifying that the identity of the holder of the payment card used matches the identity of the purchaser and their billing address. MELTEX wishes to ensure that the customer is the person who placed the order and not a fraudster who has stolen their bank details.
Delivery is provided by an independent carrier proposed by MELTEX to customers when they choose their delivery option. Customers can choose between several delivery methods, depending on their country of delivery:
- Standard home delivery with signature
- Delivery to a pick-up point
- Express delivery (next day in France or 2 to 4 days internationally)
Rates vary depending on the delivery area and the delivery method chosen, and are detailed on the Delivery & Tracking page .
For each country, standard delivery is free above a certain order threshold. These are detailed on the Delivery & Tracking page.
For the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, any customs duties and taxes are calculated by the Website and prepaid by the customer when placing their order. MELTEX then clears the goods through customs at their destination and the package is delivered directly to the recipient by the carrier.
For other countries outside the EU, any customs duties and taxes upon arrival of the package are the responsibility of the customer. If the order is subject to taxes or customs duties upon entry into the country of delivery, DHL will contact the recipient of the order to arrange payment of the required taxes and customs duties. Duties and taxes are calculated by DHL based on the type of goods, the amounts, and the taxes applicable in the country of delivery. DHL acts as an intermediary with the customs authorities of the country of delivery and is thus authorized to collect duties and taxes on their behalf. DHL will only be able to deliver the package to the recipient once the duties and taxes have been paid.
Finally, in the event of the return of one or more products, the duties and taxes paid by the recipient will not be refunded by MELTEX or DHL.
Article 6 - Right of withdrawal and return of items
In accordance with the provisions of Articles L 121-21 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, the customer has a right of withdrawal which they may exercise without having to justify their reasons, within fourteen (14) calendar days of receipt of the items.
In the case of an order for several goods delivered separately or in the case of an order for a good consisting of multiple lots or parts whose delivery is spread over a defined period, the period runs from the date of receipt of the last good or lot or the last part.
Consumers who wish to do so may initiate an online return procedure at any time by clicking on the "Make a return" button available on the Returns page. An online form will then open and the consumer will be asked to enter their number. order and email address. Alternatively, the customer may also, if they wish, return the items directly to MELTEX without initiating an online return procedure. Regardless of the return method chosen, MELTEX cannot be held responsible for the loss of a package returned by the Customer. It is therefore the Customer's responsibility to keep proof of return, which means that items must be returned by any means that provides a definite date and ensures that the shipment can be tracked. In particular, in the case of a label generated online by MELTEX, it is the customer's responsibility to provide proof of proper delivery of the return to the carrier. It is therefore important that they keep proof of shipment until MELTEX has refunded their order: tracking number and carrier's deposit stamp. Without these items, no refund can be made in the event of loss of the package during shipment.
It is specified that any item that cannot be put back on sale cannot be refunded if the depreciation of the goods results from handling other than that necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and proper functioning of these goods: this means items that are incomplete, damaged, deteriorated, or soiled, washed, without a label or composition sticker, etc. In particular, compensation for use of the goods sold may be charged to the buyer if they have purchased the goods or used them in a manner incompatible with the principles of civil law, such as good faith or unjust enrichment.
The right of withdrawal cannot be exercised for:
- The supply of goods made to the customer's specifications or clearly personalized
- The supply of goods that have been unsealed by the consumer after delivery and cannot be returned for reasons of hygiene or protection of the health.
- The supply of goods which, after delivery and due to their nature, are inseparably mixed with other items.
The right of withdrawal described above applies only to items sold on the Website and in no case to those sold in physical stores.

Article 7 - Conformity and warranty
The customer must ensure that the items delivered to them correspond to their order. In the event that the items delivered do not comply with their order, customers must inform MELTEX Customer Service by email at contact@hartford.fr and return the items in question in accordance with the conditions set out in Article 6 of these general terms and conditions of sale.
Items sold by MELTEX are subject to:
- the legal guarantee of conformity under Articles L211-4, L211-5, and L211-12 of the French Consumer Code, which allows the consumer to obtain, within two years of delivery of the goods and at no cost, the repair or replacement of the goods if they do not comply with the contract.
- the legal guarantee against hidden defects under Articles 1641 and 1648, first paragraph of the Civil Code, which allows the buyer to obtain repair or reimbursement for hidden defects in the item sold that render it unfit for its intended use, or that diminish its use to such an extent that the buyer would not have purchased it, or would have paid a lower price for it, had they been aware of the defects. The action must be brought by the purchaser within two years of the discovery of the defect.
Any warranty is excluded in the event of misuse, negligence, or lack of maintenance on the part of the buyer, as well as in the event of normal wear and tear, accident, or force majeure.

Article 8.1 - Data Protection
The provision of personal information collected in the context of distance selling is mandatory, as this information is necessary for the processing of orders, deliveries, payments, and the preparation of invoices. This information is strictly confidential and will not be passed on to third parties.
However, for the delivery of ordered items, the information is also sent to our transport providers (Colissimo, Chronopost, or DHL).
The data recorded by our PayPal or ADYEN payment solutions constitutes proof of any financial transaction between the Customer and MELTEX. It is encrypted, secured, and stored directly by our partners.
Failure to provide information will result in the automatic rejection of the order.
In accordance with Law No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978, amended by Law No. 2400-801 of August 6, 2004, relating to information technology, files, and civil liberties, the processing of personal information collected on the Website has been declared to the French Data Protection Authority (Commission Nationale de L'Informatique et des Libertés). Article 8.2 - Cookies and web beacons
The Site uses cookies. A cookie is a file computer data stored on the hard drive of the customer's computer. Its purpose is to record previous interactions with the Site and therefore does not allow identification or constitute Personal Information. Cookies are only used by MELTEX for the purpose of personalizing the service offered. The customer retains the option to refuse cookies by configuring their internet browser.
Certain web pages on the Site may contain web beacons that enable the number of visitors to the Site to be counted and/or provide MELTEX with a number of indicators. These web beacons may be used with some of our partners, in particular to measure and improve the effectiveness of the Site. In any event, the information obtained via these tags is strictly anonymous and simply allows statistics to be compiled on the traffic on certain pages of the Site in order to better serve customers.
Article 9 - Intellectual property rights
The Site is a protected work and remains the exclusive property of MELTEX, which created and posted the web pages, images, script sources, and basic data comprising it. The use of automated systems or software to extract data from this website or the website https://hartford.fr/fr_fr/# for commercial purposes (screen scraping) is prohibited, unless third parties have entered into a written license agreement directly with Hartford, in which the party concerned is given access to Hartford's information on prices, products, and images solely for the purpose of price comparison.
Article 10 - Force majeure
The performance by MELTEX of all or part of its obligations shall be suspended in the event of a fortuitous event or force majeure that would hinder or delay performance. Such events include, but are not limited to, war, riots, insurrection, social unrest, strikes of any kind, and supply problems affecting MELTEX.
MELTEX shall inform its customers of any fortuitous event or force majeure within seven days of its occurrence. If this suspension continues beyond a period of fifteen days, the customer will then have the option of canceling the current order, and a refund will be made in accordance with the conditions set out in Article 6 of these general terms and conditions of sale.
Article 11 - Disputes, applicable law, and jurisdiction
These terms and conditions are subject to French law and governed by the French language for their interpretation.
Any dispute that may arise from the validity, interpretation, execution, termination, consequences, and repercussions of these general terms and conditions of sale shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the French courts.
In the event of a dispute, the customer has the option, in accordance with Article L133-4 of the Consumer Code to resort to a conventional mediation procedure or any other alternative dispute resolution method.

Regardless of the method of referral used, the request must include:
